Kathmandu durbar square

Kathmandu durbar square is UNESCO World heritage site. The durbar square complex is in the heart of old Kathmandu city. The complex site had been place for royal palaces and temples since Licchhavi period (3 century A. D.). The main attractions are Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantpur palace, Gaddi Baithak, Kal Bhairav, Taleju temple, Living Goddess Kumari's house, big bell and big Nagada, and the pagoda called Kasthmandap from which the Kathmandu is derived. Unfortulately several buidldings including Kasthmandap pagoda are destroyed by the April 2015 earthquake.
