Muktinath Temple

Muktinath pilgrim is one of the holiest pilgrims for Vaishnav Hindu. It is one of the 106th sacred Muktichhetra (assured of salvation) of 108 sacred place of Vaishnavs. This region is called Muktichhetra where Lord Vishnu got him set free from the curse of Sati. It is a holy region for salvation. The Muktichhetra is also a Shaligram region. The holy Shaligrams are found along the Kaligandaki river. There is also a Jwaladevi, a divine flame, which is continuously burning since thousands of year in Muktinath Temple complex. The Muktinath temple is a pagoda shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple site is at an altitude of 3800 m. The Muktinath Temple complex has 108 holy water spouts set on a wall for bath. The recent developments in the transport system to Muktinath region has made the pilgrimage possible for thousands of devout Vaishnavs who do not fancy trekking.

 

Access: Pokhara is a gateway to Muktinath. From Pokhara you can
1. Fly to Jomsom and then Jeep drive to Muktinath Temple or
2. Jeep drive to Muktinath temple on fair weather or
3. Helicopter Charter to Muktinath

 

Itinerary
Day 01
Airport transfer, fly to Jomsom (20 min), Hotel Majesty or similar transfer, Jeep drive to (1-2 Hr) Muktinath and Darshan, Jeep drive to Jomsom and stay
Day 02
Airport transfer and fly to Pokhara
